TutorFlow Tests and Quizzes — Overview

TutorFlow generates assessments across five question formats — multiple-choice, open-ended, coding, image-based, and listening. Export tests and answer keys as PDF.

TutorFlow's assessment tools let educators create quizzes and exams without starting from a blank page. You describe the subject, level, and question format, and TutorFlow generates a ready-to-review assessment in minutes.

The platform supports five question types across academic, technical, and language learning scenarios. Tests can be delivered online inside a course, or exported as a PDF with a matching answer key for printed use.

Supported question formats

FormatBest for
Multiple choiceKnowledge checks, factual recall, concept verification
Open-endedWritten responses, essay questions, reflection tasks
CodingTechnical assessment — learners write and execute code directly
Image-basedVisual recognition, diagram analysis, STEM problem solving
Listening / speakingLanguage learning, pronunciation, listening comprehension

Coding questions deserve a specific note: learners write their solution in TutorFlow's built-in code editor, run it, and receive feedback — all within the assessment. This makes it possible to evaluate both conceptual understanding (via written questions) and technical execution (via code) in the same test.

Common use cases

Tests in TutorFlow serve different purposes depending on where in the learning journey they appear:

  • Entry assessments — Gauge prior knowledge before starting a course
  • Formative quizzes — Quick checks at the end of a lesson to confirm understanding
  • Summative exams — Midterm or final assessments at the end of a course or module
  • Coding assessments — Technical evaluations for programming courses and bootcamps
  • Language proficiency tests — Listening, reading, and written response in one assessment

How TutorFlow reduces assessment overhead

Writing good test questions takes time. For a typical 20-question exam, an instructor has to draft questions at the right difficulty level, verify that answers are unambiguous, create a matching answer key, and format everything for delivery. TutorFlow handles the drafting step, so educators spend their time on review and calibration — not on creating from scratch.

You remain in control of the final assessment. TutorFlow produces a draft that you review, edit, and approve before delivering to learners. The AI generates; you decide.

PDF export with answer key

Any test created in TutorFlow can be exported as a formatted PDF document. The export includes a separate answer key, making it straightforward to prepare printed materials for in-person exams or offline delivery.
